Alternatives to Skiing
What Else Can You Do If You Are No Skier?
We realize not everyone likes to ski or actually can ski! So we thought we’d get together with our travel companions and have a look at some of the things you can do this winter season, without strapping on a pair of skis.
What about a “snooc”?
Ever heard of a snooc? It’s for those of us who don’t have the time to learn how to ski properly, or just can’t be bothered. There’s no reason why you can’t enjoy the thrill though is there? A snooc is a pair of “ski like” shoes that allow you to walk in the snow uphill. Then when you want to glide down the mountain, you can clip them together and make a mini toboggan! You can get your “snooc” on at Le Grand Bornand in France (just one place) where it’ll cost you around £30 for a couple of hours’ lessons, and then off you go! Much easier than skiing.
Hiking in Reykjavik
You can still have a good time without going at a ridiculous speed down a mountain. Why not have some fun and spend some quality time, perhaps with a special travel companion, by hiking up and down the mountains? Hiking is becoming a more popular winter pastime, and there’s a great trail from Reykjavik that takes you over glaciers and by volcanoes, etc. and you have dinner by a beautiful waterfall and take in The Norther Lights. Sounds perfect right? You can book one of these breaks through Asgard and Beyond. We know some holiday escorts that would jump at the chance to do this, and what better companion could you think of to have dinner with?
Book your companion
There you go, there are a couple of ideas for you if you can’t ski. We’ll let you know of any others we think about, here on the blog. Now all that’s left is to book your travel escort and jet off to Iceland. Hell, we might even have some girls nearby. Give us a call!
